Exhibition News

In October I had a painting in Brooklyn New York with Arrival Gallery which was well received.

I have been in communication with Arrival Gallery expressing the need for other similar Art Shows across the UK as there is not anything like this in the UK and London is expensive for most people.

There are plenty of these types of shows which I get invited to across Europe by different Curators/Galleries and I think this is a fun model to get people interested in painting.

Painting should be like going to a Theatre where people can experience multitude of senses

They may look at Edinburgh which would be fantastic as it’s commutable and affordable for me to attend.

In November I will be exhibiting 4 paintings with Arteom Gallery , I have been submitting art to Alessia the founder of Arteom for 3 years now and I love her enthusiasm. Arteom is a virtual art show which makes art very accessible.

The Serenity of the wild

Ventures into the Forest to directly connect with the intimacy of nature.

Finding stillness and peace to heal the anxious mind of a chaotic world.

Not imitating but finding spirit through intuitive expression of lines, colours and shapes.

Letting go the need for outcome and allowing no judgement of whatever emerges.

There is nothing wrong it is just creating from moment to moment through the inspiration of nature to guide you.

Here is what Jean Dubuffet writes about paper

I should say that at that time I was experimenting with all kinds of papers, having more or less sizing. The language of these imprints and the direction it gives the work changes enormously according to the paper. Each paper has its own mood and shows itself more or less disposed to my second enterprise . Sometimes I used the most expensive paper. Even the colour of the ink varied. Those that drink too much and behave like uncouth gluttons are worthless.

In reverence of paper : experiment evolves and deepens our experience

paper contains memory of life whilst knowing the ephemeral nature of existence

It holds our truth of each mark through its own presence of texture , strength and imperfection.

Let it guide your work to something new

Mistakes are teachings of the infinite creator

Give yourself permission to fail without judgement

Reclaim your curiosity and evolve your preference

Get to know your paper

What does it feel like

Where did it come from

Whats its attributes

How does it appear to you

Is it strong or delicate

How does it hold your marks

Play with what its showing you

Experiment with it

Let it guide you with new marks

Art Available for Sale

It has taken a while but I have now set up my website to allow original art to be purchased. Why buy something from a corporate chain when you can have unique one off art in your home.

At this moment I have released 10 of my Watercolour Poems which are A3 in size.

I have decided for ease of purchase and safety of delivery that I will be selling the artwork un-mounted and un-framed which allows you to fit it into your home just the way you want it

I am always available for any advice on mounting and framing.
