Painting in the woodland connects the energy of nature to the work.I am not painting what is seen but responding to a gesture as a form of language with forms with what i find in nature. I am seeking for my work to create something new from what has inspired me through my painting process. The work is raw , in the moment and unedited just like nature itself
It took me 3 months of sitting in a spot in a woodland in Kielder Forest painting when i realised that the moss hanging from up-turned root plates of fallen trees in the storm reminded me of calligraphy especially japanese "Shodo" that there is a language which took mindfulness and emptiness to connect to a nature form but instead of using ink i use watercolour to find its essence. Depending upon my own mood the palette changes created with watercolour on Fabrinno 33 x 50 cm Oil Paper The painting is sold un-mounted and framed to enable the buyer to choose how this fits into their own home and ease of delivery. The image shows it mounted for ease of knowing what it looks like mounted.
